I really doubt that you will be amazing at the game as a new player. The goal of tank games is to capture and hold point/s. War Thunder ground forces consists of a lot of strategy, including positioning, engagements, spotting enemy's, and choosing appropriate ammo. The joy and satisfaction from blowing up an enemy's ammunition is almost too hard to put into words. Despite being frustrating at times however, War Thunder can also be very pleasing and rewarding.

War Thunder WILL annoy you and piss you off, no matter how much experience you have. Despite having a huge variety of nations to pick from, I highly recommend choosing either the USA or Germany (which also have the most vehicles generally). Britain is also another good nation to pick for ground forces due to the amount of armor the tanks have in the earlier ranks. Russia is also a very respectable nation to use for ground forces, due to their unusual armor and overall vehicle strength (and, of course, sweet Russian bias). I highly recommend that new players chose to play either the USA or Germany lines for ground vehicles. In ground forces, the lines generally consist of tanks (gradually switching between light, medium, and heavy), anti-aircraft, and tank destroyers. There are different trees and branches of every type of vehicle in War Thunder.

Ground vehicles do not just consist of tanks, they also consist of other armed vehicles such as armored cars and trucks with cannons of various sizes. The best nations for ground forces are the USA, Germany, and Russia, with honorable mentions such as Britain. Ground vehicles and air vehicles are the most original vehicles in the game.
